Your inquiry leaves a record.
The Hertrichs service department uses the details you send to handle your request. This privacy policy explains that record, the advertising information that accompanies a visit and the choices you retain after you contact us.
Read the record.
Asking about auto repair after purchase does not create an account or place an order. It does create an inquiry when you send the form. Each clause below separates what happens to your information from the reason it is needed. Cookie controls are explained in the cookies and advertising notice.
| Clause | What it means | Why it applies |
|---|---|---|
| 01 / Controller | Hertrichs is the operator and controller. | It receives and answers inquiries. |
| 02 / Information received | The form and chat record the information described below. | Those records route and protect a request. |

- Clause 01 / Controller
- What it meansHertrichs, trading at hertrichs.us, operates this website and is responsible for the personal information collected through its inquiry forms and support chat. Postal address: 1420 P. O. BOX, SEAFORD, DE 19973, SEAFORD, DE, United States.
- Why it appliesYour request goes to the family dealer network represented on this site. The operator page explains that relationship; privacy questions go directly to [email protected], not to an advertising platform.
- Clause 02 / Information received
- What it meansThe inquiry form records your name, phone, email, address, inquiry kind, message, requested specification and consent tick. It also records the IP address, browser user-agent string, referring URL, form-render time and send time. Support chat keeps the conversation and a browser token so you can return to it.
- Why it appliesVehicle details and the concern you describe help route dealer service and parts requests. Technical records help distinguish a real submission from misuse. Browser storage includes the consent record and chat token; advertising links can carry
gclid, msclkidorfbclid. There is no account, password, payment or card collection.
- Clause 03 / Use of the record
- What it meansWe use contact details to reply, and the inquiry kind and vehicle specification to identify the work being requested. Chat messages support the conversation you start. The consent tick records permission to contact you about that request; it is not permission for unrelated marketing.
- Why it appliesIP, browser, referral and time records support delivery, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. The stored cookie choice controls optional storage. Advertising click identifiers support attribution and campaign measurement subject to the choices described below. A symptom supplied for diagnostic work is not treated as authorization to perform a repair.
- Clause 04 / Legal bases
- What it meansWhere a law requires a processing basis, the basis follows the purpose. Consent is used for optional advertising and analytics storage. Contract includes steps you ask us to take before a possible service agreement; submitting the form does not itself make that agreement.
- Why it appliesLegitimate interest supports operating and protecting the site where that interest is not overridden by your rights. A legal obligation can require handling a privacy request or preserving a record. These bases do not turn permission to answer a service question into permission to personalize advertising.
| Purpose | Information | Basis where applicable |
|---|---|---|
| Respond to requested work | Contact and vehicle inquiry details | Contract: steps at your request before an agreement; consent to the requested contact |
| Continue support chat | Messages, supplied contact details and return token | Legitimate interest in providing the support you request; consent for contact |
| Protect the site | IP address, user-agent and submission timing | Legitimate interest in preventing abuse and maintaining reliable delivery |
| Measure advertising and analytics | Click identifiers and optional browser storage | Consent for optional storage and the associated advertising uses |
| Honor privacy rights | Request details and proportionate identity checks | Legal obligation where the relevant privacy law applies |
- Clause 05 / google ads / microsoft advertising / Meta Ads
- What it meansGoogle Ads, Microsoft Advertising and Meta Ads send paid traffic to this site. Their links can include
gclidfor Google, msclkidfor Microsoft andfbclidfor Meta. These identifiers associate a visit with an advertising click; they are not a repair reference number. - Why it appliesAttribution helps measure which advertising brings people to the vehicle inquiry route. An identifier may be present in a URL before you make a storage choice. Declining optional storage does not remove the original link from your browser history or undo the platform's record of the click.
- Clause 06 / consent mode
- What it meansConsent Mode v2 holds
ad_storage,ad_user_data,ad_personalizationandanalytics_storagedenied until you allow storage. All four signals are set back to denied the moment you decline or withdraw. The choice is stored only undersite_consent_v2. - Why it appliesAllowing contact about a form or chat is separate from allowing advertising storage. Use “Change cookie choices” in the footer to revisit the browser choice. Denied storage does not mean every network request stops: consent signals and restricted, cookieless measurement can still communicate the denied state.
- Clause 07 / Who receives data
- What it meansGoogle Ireland Ltd / Google LLC provides Google Ads and receives consent signals. Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd provides Microsoft Advertising. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd provides Meta Ads. Each handles advertising information under its own role and privacy terms, rather than acting as the service desk for your repair.
- Why it appliesThe hosting provider serves the site and stores the inquiry database. The mail provider carries inquiry notifications to the operator's inbox. These providers support delivery of your request. Microsoft's handling is described at privacy.microsoft.com. The other platform policy links are on the cookie notice.
- Clause 08 / Country boundaries
- What it meansHertrichs operates in the United States. A visitor sending information from Europe sends it to a United States operator. Hosting, mail and advertising services can process information outside the country where a visit begins; this policy does not represent that every record remains in one country.
- Why it appliesA restricted international transfer requires a lawful route under the applicable law, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards with any required supplementary protections. The route depends on the recipient. Ask us about the safeguards relevant to your record; a cookie choice is not a waiver of transfer protections.
- Clause 09 / Retention
- What it meansInquiries and their email copies are kept for 18 months. Chat transcripts are kept for 18 months. Server and access logs are kept for 90 days. The record of a consent choice is kept for 6 months. These are different records with different retention periods.
- Why it appliesA service conversation may need a later reply, while technical logs serve a shorter operational purpose. Clearing browser storage does not erase an inquiry or transcript already received. Ask for deletion through the data-request route. Advertising platforms describe their own retention in their privacy statements.
- Clause 10 / Security
- What it meansThe public site uses HTTPS. Inquiry handling includes submission checks and hidden anti-spam fields; public visitors have no account or password to manage. The browser chat token links a returning visitor to a conversation, so treat browser access as access to that chat.
- Why it appliesNo website can promise absolute security. Do not send payment card details, passwords or identity documents through a vehicle inquiry or chat. On a shared device, close the conversation and clear its browser storage when finished. Contact us if you think a message or record has been accessed without permission.
- Clause 11 / European rights / gdpr
- What it meansFor visitors from Europe where the GDPR applies, rights include access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Why it appliesSome rights depend on the processing basis. Portability concerns qualifying information processed automatically on consent or contract; objection applies to processing based on legitimate interests, including applicable direct marketing objections. A legal requirement to keep a record can limit erasure. We explain any applicable limit when responding.
- Clause 12 / State rights / ccpa
- What it meansUS state privacy law applies. California's CCPA/CPRA and other state laws in force provide rights where their coverage requirements are met. These can include knowing or accessing the information held, obtaining a copy, correction, deletion and opting out of sale or sharing, including qualifying cross-context advertising.
- Why it appliesYou can ask to opt out of targeted advertising and exercise any applicable right to limit sensitive-information use. A privacy request does not require buying anything. We do not discriminate for exercising a protected right. An authorized agent may contact us; proportionate proof of authority may be needed. Ask for review if a request is refused, including an appeal where state law provides one.
- Clause 13 / global privacy control
- What it meansGlobal Privacy Control, communicated by the
Sec-GPCheader, is honored as an opt-out without asking again. It expresses a choice against sale or sharing and targeted advertising where those rights apply. - Why it appliesA browser-level signal should not force you to repeat a refusal on this site. Necessary request handling still works. The signal does not delete previously submitted vehicle information; use the data-request route when you also want a record removed.
- Clause 14 / Children
- What it meansThis site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or ask them to send an inquiry. A vehicle service form is not an appropriate place for a child's details.
- Why it appliesIf you believe a child has submitted information, contact [email protected] so the record can be identified and removed. Describe the submission without sending additional sensitive information about the child.
- Clause 15 / Complaints
- What it meansYou may complain to your state Attorney General and, in California, to the California Privacy Protection Agency. Visitors protected by European privacy law may complain to a competent data protection authority, including the authority where they live or work.
- Why it appliesYou do not have to accept our response as the final word on a statutory right. You can also ask Hertrichs to review a concern at the contact below. Contacting us first is useful for locating a record, but does not remove your right to complain to an authority.
- Clause 16 / Data request
- What it meansEmail [email protected] with “Data request” in the subject, or write to Hertrichs, 1420 P. O. BOX, SEAFORD, DE 19973, SEAFORD, DE, United States. State the right you want to exercise and the email or phone used for the original inquiry. A data request is answered within 14 days.
- Why it appliesWe need enough information to find the record without exposing it to someone else. Include an approximate submission date or the inquiry subject if known. Do not attach an identity document at the outset. If a proportionate identity or authority check is needed, we explain it; if a record must be retained, we explain that too.
- Clause 17 / Policy changes
- What it meansChanges are published on this page with a revised last-updated date. A material change to the uses described here is called out in the updated notice. Where a new use requires fresh consent, an earlier browser choice does not supply that consent.
- Why it appliesThe date at the top identifies the version you are reading. You may keep a copy for your records. Contact us about an earlier inquiry if you need to understand which notice applied when it was sent.
- Clause 18 / A person to contact
- What it meansPrivacy questions reach Hertrichs at [email protected] or (302) 629-4553. The postal route is 1420 P. O. BOX, SEAFORD, DE 19973, SEAFORD, DE, United States.
- Why it appliesUse this route for a question about a particular submission, not an advertising platform's support desk. For a new repair or vehicle request, the contact page keeps the service inquiry separate from your privacy correspondence.
A form is not the only route.
The site includes a skip link, labelled controls and keyboard navigation. Layouts adapt to smaller screens, and reduced-motion preferences remove nonessential movement. These features are intended to make the service information usable; they are not a claim of third-party certification.
If a control, document or page prevents you from contacting the Hertrichs service department, call (302) 629-4553 or email [email protected]. Give the page address and the task that failed. You can request help without disclosing a disability or medical history.
For an accessible copy of privacy information or help making a data request, tell us the format you need. The data-request response period above also applies when that request is made through an alternate contact route.
A request is not repair approval.
Privacy consent permits the handling described here. It does not confirm a booking, authorize workshop labor or create a warranty. The service catalogue is inquiry-only, with no checkout and no binding online quote.
Repair scope and any applicable warranty terms need to be confirmed for the particular work or part. Nothing in this policy guarantees a diagnostic result, completion time or insurer decision. Any rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded remain in place.
The terms of use explain the website's inquiry limits. Keep the vehicle concern in your service request and any question about stored information in your privacy request so each can be handled on its own merits.
